How has my world view changed since the study of World War II?
By: Scott
| Before our study of WW II, I
knew some things about it, but not much. World War II was probably the bloodiest war in
history. World War II added up to around 50,000,000 deaths. One reason why war is bad is
lots of people get killed in wars. I think too many people died in this war. War destroys
peoples homes and lives. Much more is destroyed. Wars dont need to be fought.
Maybe there is a non- violent solution. I feel Hitler shouldnt have tried for world domination. Hitler was wrong in his acting against the Jews. I am glad Hitler didnt succeed. In Russia, the German Army wanted to retreat because of the harsh winter. Guess what Hitler said? "No!" This shows he was very cruel. Hitler didnt care about the people he led into battle because he put them in bad situations. Hitler didnt care. The Germans pushed on toward Stalingrad. The Russians were used to the winter and prepared for it. The Russians pushed the Germans back easily. Hitler wasnt pleased that some Russians pushed his army back. In the Pacific, the Japanese were whacking away at Pearl Harbor and Midway. Their Zeros were lightweight and highly maneuverable, but a few rounds into the fuel tank turned the Zeros into fireballs. The Germans surrendered to Britain and Russia, and we dropped 2 atomic bombs on Japan to make them surrender The Allies had won World War II. We paid Germany and Japan some money for repairs, since both countries and their territories had been severely damaged or leveled. War is bad. What I have typed on this paper tells you its bad. Maybe we wont have to fight future wars. Maybe we will. No one can predict the future exactly, but I think somehow we can make an agreement without fighting. This would be nice because nobody wants to go to war and get killed. If someday I were to become a great leader, I would try to keep our country neutral and out of future wars to keep my people from getting killed. I would not want anyone to get killed. After learning about WW II, I learned wars kill tons of people. I would not enlist if there was a threat of war because I would want peace. I would not want to kill anyone. Doing this may make others follow my actions and try to make this world a peaceful one. We only have one chance to live, so lets try for peace. These are the facts and my feelings about WW II. |
