Lesson #6- Chocolate: A Contemporary Confection

You will return to the Field Museum to take a look at another section in the History of Chocolate. Use the link to go to the site and choose the section called:

Chocolate: A Contemporary Confection
Investigate the effects that new technological innovations of the Industrial Revolution had on chocolate. You’ll find out how it evolved from the sweet drink of kings into its current chocolate bar form loved by so many people today.

eights.gif (966 bytes)Take a detailed look at the different ways people obtained, made, and used cacao in the recent past and in the present.  After you have finished your reading (don't forget to read all the sections!!) get a piece of drawing paper from your teacher. Fold the paper into 8 equal sections.  In the top left square label the drawing A Contempory Confection and add you name.   In each section of the paper draw a picture of something from each of the seven pages in this part of the website.

After you finish your drawings and turn them in continue to the next lesson called Introduction: Eating and Using Chocolate.
