Welcome to the Nieman Enhanced Learning Center.  The Center is part of the Shawnee Mission School District's gifted education program. We serve K-6 students who come to the Center one day a week from the feeder schools around the neighborhood. This site is to be used to provide information to gifted students and the parents and teachers of gifted students.

Guardians of Freedom was our major project for the 2000-2001 school year. The World War II Oral Histories Project took root during an intensive study of World War Two by 5th and 6th grade students.
