Shawnee Mission Association for Gifted 
A local parent group for parents and teachers of gifted students in the Shawnee Mission School District.
National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC)
The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) is an organization of parents, educators, other professionals and community leaders who unite to address the unique needs of children and youth with demonstrated gifts and talents. They advocate for gifted students' needs, support on-going research, and provide staff development. They also sponsor the Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award.
Kansas Association for Gifted, Talented and Creative
Our state gifted association, composed of parents and educators interested in advocacy and understanding providing for the needs of gifted students.
SENG: Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted
SENG focuses primarily on parents, helping them to identify giftedness in their children, providing guidance, information, and resources that will help children come to understand and accept their unique talents. Further, SENG provides a forum for parents and educators to communicate about effective ways to live and work with gifted individuals

Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)
The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides continual professional development, advocates for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.

National Research Center
The mission of The National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented is to plan and conduct theory-driven quantitative and qualitative research that is problem-based, practice-relevant, and consumer-oriented. The funding for the Research Center has been provided by the Office of Educational Research and Improvement, United States Department of Education, under the Jacob K. Gifted Development Center
The Gifted Development Center serves parents, schools, and advocacy groups with information about identification, assessment, counseling, learning styles, programs, presentations, and resources for gifted children and adults. They have materials on visual-spatial learners, resources for understanding and helping gifted children, personnel to assist you, links to other resources, and much more.
GT World
GT World is an on-line support community for parents of Gifted and Talented children. Others interested in supporting and nurturing gifted and talented children are also most welcome.

Duke University’s Talent Identification Program (TIP) is committed to identifying a cademically talented students and to providing model programs and services to support the development of their optimal educational potential. TIP is dedicated to being the national leader in offering innovative, high quality programs and services for academically talented children & youth and their parents, with the goals of better understanding and serving America’s most academically talented students. The Talent Search identifies academically talented 7th-graders based on standardized test scores achieved while attending elementary or early middle school. Candidates are identified and invited to complete either the SAT I: Reasoning Test or the ACT Assessment college entrance examination.
