What's New In EL?

The relocation to our new school, Broken Arrow, went very well.  We are thrilled with our new room and the staff has been welcoming.

Fall 2007--The curriculum focus for first quarter is Pirates, Oceanography and Shipwrecks.  Mrs. Moffitt wrote an interesting curriculum and students have been learning about pirates, privateers, and corsairs.  We took a break from our studies to celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Week with pirate food and drink, pirate lingo and even a game of Caribbean Squares.

As we learn about pirates we are honing our research skills learning about note taking, choosing appropriate sources, and plagiarism. The culminating project for our study of pirates will be a wiki.  We'll post the address here when it is completed.
