Science and Technology Museums

The Exploratorium This San Francisco museum has interesting online exhibits, including the "Science of Sport" and "Hubble:A View to the Edge of Space".   In the Learning Studio you can enjoy some online activities. 

American Museum of Natural History The NMNH has a new section for kids called "Ology".

The Field Museum has a beautiful website with many online exhibits including: Sue at The Field Museum, Man-Eaters of Tsavo, Sounds from the Vaults, Underground Adventure, Africa, Butterflies, Women in Science

The Franklin Institute Science Museum
The Franklin Institute has a comprehensive section on collections and investigations.   Teachers go to the section called "Learning Resources".

The National Museum of Science and Technology
This beautiful museum in in Milan, Italy.  You can learn all about Leonardo D'Vinci in a superb virtual experience.  You will need a plugin to enjoy this experience. If you just want to wander around the Leonardo exhibit, you can do that too.

National Air and Space Museum
This museum is part of the Smithsonian Institute and contains many exhibits about the space and the history of flight.

The Museum of Science and Industry
The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago has some fascinating online exhibits including: All Aboard the Silver Streak!, The U-505 Submarine, Colleen Moore's Fairy Castle, The Coal Mine, NetWorld and CSI.

San Diego Aerospace Museum
The virtual tour at this Aerospace Museum uses technology allowing you to rotate around the room with your mouse and zoom in and out to see all the planes.  You feel like you are there.

New England Aquarium

The American Museum of Photography

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
This museum has a wonderful section called "Voyage of the St. Louis".  In this section you chose the name of a real person who lived through the Holocaust and research their lives through the use of primary documents. Superb!
