Pleasant View Cemetery, Est. 1895

This cemetery, established in September 1895, is the newest and the northern-most of 3 adjoining cemeteries located on Quivera in Shawnee, KS. The older Shawnee Cemetery is to the immediate south of Pleasant View. The cemetery was well platted, and was managed by a private family Cemetery Association for many years.

The oldest marked burial is 1912. The cemetery is currently open for new interments.

The Pleasant View Cemetery Association was established in 1895, with the purchase of 7 acres of land from the Yotz family. In 2003, the City of Shawnee assumed ownership and manages interments and maintenance.

One of the oddest markers we saw in all of our travels was in  the Pleasant View Cemetery; there was a marker shaped like was a smurf!
