Religion

 

Different Religions:

        The majority of the Cambodians are Theravada Buddhist.  60,000 Cambodians are Roman Catholics.  Most Cambodian Chinese are Confucionists, or they are Taoists.  Most Cambodians believe in a supernatural world of spirits. 

 

Buddhists: 

        Buddhists see the universe and all life as part of a cycle of eternal change.  They follow the teachings of Buddha.  Children often look after the fruit trees in their temples. 

 

Islam: 

        The Cham converted to Islam around the fifteenth century.  Islam is a complete way of life that encompasses religion and culture.  The god of Islam is Allah.
