The area of Cambodia is 70,238 square miles. Thailand is the bordering country to the northwest. Laos is the border to the north. Vietnam is to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand is to the west.
Mountains, Water and Climate:
Cambodia is mainly basin-shaped lowland areas. Mountains cover the north, the east, and to the west. The mountains are covered by dense tropical forests. The Mekong River is an important geographical feature to Cambodia. The river gives Cambodia food, water and other important things. Tonle Sap is the largest in-land lake in Southeast Asia. The main climate is hot and humid. Occasionally the country has large floods.
